Two Coble nominees appointed to service academies

(Washington, DC)---Two students nominated to the nation's military academies by U.S. Rep. Howard Coble (R-NC) have received appointments according to the Sixth District representative. Congressman Coble said today that the students are from Davidson and Guilford counties.
Skyler Briggs of Lexington has received an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Skyler attends Central Davidson High School and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Briggs. Skyler lives on Old Mountain Road in Lexington.
Receiving an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is Adam Fly of Greensboro. Adam is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Fly and attends Bishop McGuinness High School. Adam lives on Dover Road in Greensboro.
“Two of our nominees have received appointments to military academies for the upcoming school year,” Rep. Coble said. “I am glad that our military leaders agree that this district is blessed with a unique and impressive group of young men and women.”
Davidson County is no longer in the Sixth District, but was at the time when academy nominations had to be submitted.
