Update #3 on Rep. Coble's hospital stay
Dec 16, 2011 -
(Washington, D.C.)----Doctors at George Washington University Hospital say that U.S. Rep. Howard Coble (R-NC) continues to make steady improvement as he recovers from an upper respiratory illness, which has depleted his sodium levels, the 6th District representative’s office announced Friday afternoon. Physicians at the Washington, D.C., hospital expect to move Congressman Coble from the ICU to a regular hospital room either later tonight or Saturday morning.
George Washington University Hospital physicians say that Rep. Coble’s sodium levels are slowly but steadily improving, and as soon as they return to normal levels, they expect to discharge the 80-year-old representative from the hospital, where he has been since December 13. Congressman Coble’s office has been informed that he could be released as soon as this Sunday.
Since the House may be back in session as soon as this Monday, Rep. Coble may remain in Washington for any possible votes after being released from the hospital.
